Description

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 mobile phone with 256 GB capacity and 12 GB RAM

Samsung was and is one of the pioneers of foldable smartphones and has been able to show a very good performance. Galaxy Z Fold5 has entered the competition this time more powerful than ever. In terms of technical specifications, we must say that this phone is not much different from the previous generation, that is, Galaxy Z Fold4, and Samsung has tried to consider a better and flawless design for this new phone. In normal mode, you will see a large 7.6-inch screen that gives you the feeling of using a tablet. The main screen of this phone with a very good resolution and of course the refresh rate of 120 Hz, provides very high quality image resolution and very smooth performance. The 6.2-inch secondary screen is very suitable for use in the folded state and has nothing less than a standard smartphone screen. Of course, the panel is considered to be very high-quality and again, the 120 Hz update rate has made you see a very high-quality performance from the secondary screen of Galaxy Z Fold5. On the back side, like the previous generation, we see the presence of a main camera sensor with a resolution of 50 megapixels, a 10 megapixel telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom and a 12 megapixel ultra-wide sensor with a 123-degree and very wide viewing angle. Camera sensors meet all your expectations in daylight and night light. In the video recording department, this phone has the ability to record video with the maximum quality of 8K and the speed of 24 frames per second. There is a 10-megapixel selfie camera with an infinity O notch design for the secondary screen and a 4-megapixel selfie camera sensor below the main screen. One of the main differences between this phone and its previous generation is definitely the presence of a more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 generation 2 processor. A processor that has a very high impact in providing the quality of this phone in different parts. The battery with a capacity of 4400 mAh and support for 25 W fast charging technology are considered among other specifications. All in all, we must say that if you are looking to buy a special phone that does not have many of the defects of the previous series of folding phones, Galaxy Z Fold5 can be the best possible choice for you.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5, the world’s most powerful folding device

Another popular Samsung folding device is the Fold series, which has a different purpose than the Flip series with larger dimensions and a different form factor. The latest version of this attractive folding is the Galaxy Z Fold5, which was released with a familiar appearance but a different structure. A folding phone that uses a 7.6-inch main screen and a 6.2-inch secondary screen to form an all-round product in any type of use. Functional camera, new structure of hinges, greater strength and powerful hardware make Galaxy Z Fold 5 competitive.

Big but small in pocket

It is safe to say that the most important structural change of the Galaxy Z Fold5 is the new hinge that allows the two halves to be closed without a gap. Not only is this the most obvious change, but it also addresses an issue that has been criticized for years. In fact, the opening of the gap between the two halves not only did not convey a good sense of functionality, but also created a big challenge for users in terms of security with the accumulation of dust and particles. Now the new hinge provides more security to the Fold 5 with more strength and a better look. The new hinge has made Samsung’s new folding device 2 mm thinner when folded and 10 grams lighter than the previous generation. However, the Fold 5 is not a light phone with a weight of 253 grams, but it is not surprising when current flagships weigh more than 220 grams. Beyond the new hinge, this device is very familiar, Samsung has chosen not to differ much from the previous generation in terms of appearance, and the structure is the most important change of this model. The new Galaxy Z Fold5 uses the latest Gorilla Glass Victus 2 panels, while the previous generation stuck to Victus+. If you want to quickly distinguish the Fold 5 from the Fold 4, pay attention to the camera flash. In Fold 5, the flash has come out of the camera island to make the island smaller.

The frame around the phone has an aluminum structure. The left side of this frame, which has the Samsung logo, disappears completely when opened. The bottom frame of this phone is folded into a microphone, speaker and USB-C port. The upper frame houses three microphones and a second speaker so that the stereo sound is more prominent than anything else. The side frame of the power or on/off button with the fingerprint sensor, volume control, and the SIM card port can be seen in the other frame.

When closed, the secondary display with dimensions of 6.2 inches stands out. The screen on which the camera punch is placed and has very large dimensions as a secondary display. Opening the phone reveals a 7.6-inch display that is fully integrated and supports a hidden selfie camera punch. But the important issue in this type of folding display is the crease in the middle, which Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 still has one of the most prominent creases.

Large dual display on all sides

On paper, the Galaxy Z Fold5 on the inside offers a 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X folding panel with a resolution of 1812 x 2176 pixels with a density of 373 pixels per inch and an aspect ratio of 5:6. The panel supports 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and HDR10+ streaming. The maximum brightness of this display is equal to 1200 nits, which can provide good readability even under powerful light sources.

The secondary display uses a 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with a resolution of 904 x 2316 pixels and a pixel density of 401 pixels per inch with an aspect ratio of 23:9. The panel also supports 120Hz dynamic refresh rate and HDR10+ playback. This display also has a maximum brightness of nearly 1200 nits. Therefore, Samsung should be praised for offering two different types of displays with the same brightness and display quality. The adaptive refresh rate of this phone is so great that it offers a different refresh rate in the most detailed display content that has a different rate. For example, in games and most of the user interface (if you want this setting) it supports 120 Hz, but when you split a 30 frame video, the refresh rate is 30 Hz, and with a 48 frame video, you see the same 48 Hz. This creates a unique visual experience.

A familiar trio

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold5 uses the same triple camera setup. A 50-megapixel primary camera with OIS, a 10-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x zoom and OIS, and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera. The main camera on the back is based on a 50-megapixel Samsung GN3 sensor. It’s a relatively large sensor with 1.0 µm pixels and a tetrapixel (four Bayer) filter array. The lens here is 23mm and f/1.8 aperture. Optical stabilization or OIS and automatic dual-phase focus accompany this set. Detail is excellent while noise is kept to a minimum. The white balance is competitive and the dynamic range is excellent. In the comparison section, the images recorded with the camera of this phone are somewhat similar to the Galaxy S23.

The ultra-wide camera is equipped with 12 megapixel Sony IMX 258. A familiar sensor with 1.12 micrometer pixels. Its native resolution is 13MP, but Samsung lists it at 12MP based on image output. The camera uses a 13mm lens with an f/2.2 aperture, and while the module has AF on some devices, the Fold5 unfortunately doesn’t support autofocus. The performance of this camera is also very good, but the fact that the focus is fixed is mostly used for a wide field of view. Accuracy in detail, contrast and dynamic range are evaluated. But the telephoto camera is equipped with a Samsung S5K3K1 sensor, which has a resolution of 10 megapixels, 1.0 micrometer pixels, 66 mm lens, f/2.4 aperture, optical image stabilization and three times zoom. Zoomed photos are very good. High details are processed without noise and with accurate colors.

The selfie camera is based on a 10-megapixel Sony IMX 374 sensor, which is used in other Samsung utility products. This camera has 1.22 micrometer pixels and a decent viewing angle. HDR recording capability and f/2.2 aperture with 24 mm lens are other features of the selfie camera. Of course, this is not the only selfie camera. A 4-megapixel selfie camera sits below the secondary display, offering decent output with an f/1.8 aperture, 26mm lens, and 2μm pixels. In the video recording department, the original Doreen can record videos with 8K resolution and 30 frame rate. In 4K, the rate can be increased up to 60 frames, in 1080 pixels, the rate can be increased to 240 frames, and in 720 pixels, the rate can be increased to 960 frames. Support for HDR10+ videos is another feature of the camera. Doreen Selfie can also record videos with 4K accuracy and 60 frame rate.

A powerful and stable processor

The Galaxy Z Fold5 is equipped with a Snapdragon 8 generation 2 processor. This processor is factory overclocked for Samsung flagships. The maximum frequency of the main core in this chip is equal to 3.36 GHz, while the standard examples offer a frequency of 3.2, or precisely 3.19 GHz. An expensive 8-core processor built with 4nm lithography. This chip is powerful and attractive enough to surprise you with its processing power. In our tests, it scored 1470 in single-core and 4993 in multi-core Geekbench. An important issue in Samsung flagships is that in order to maintain a stable temperature of the phone, the processor limits a large part of its power under the workload. This limitation is not always. When the workload is too long, the operating frequency is reduced to reduce the processor temperature.

Adreno 740 graphics chip is also overclocked in this phone. The frequency of this chip is equal to 719 MHz, while the standard sample offers a frequency of 680 MHz. In terms of performance, we are with one of the best mobile graphics chips. The high processing power made us get a total score of 1188421 in the AnTuTu test. As we saw in the Galaxy S23 phones, this foldable phone uses LPDDR5X RAM, which in the Galaxy Z Fold5 has a capacity of 12 GB. The storage options here are 256GB, 512GB and 1TB, with the UFS 4.0 structure enabling blazing transfer speeds.

Battery life and final words

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 is powered by the same 4400 mAh battery. Support for a 25W charger is planned for this foldable, and Samsung claims that the battery will be charged to 50% in 30 minutes. This claim is not far-fetched and can be implemented. Of course, like recent Korean flagships, the charger is not in the box and you have to take the trouble of buying a suitable charger. Support for 15W wireless charging and 4.5W reverse charging are other features. In general, in daily use, you can expect about two days of battery life. By watching movies, surfing the web, and playing games, the battery will last you 15 hours, 11 hours, and 8 hours, respectively. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 is a lovely and attractive folding phone. It has progressed well from the first model to this stage. The Fold 5 is certainly not a perfect masterpiece, but the novelty of this style of phone needs time to evolve. The Galaxy Z Fold5’s hinge structure is definitely its most significant change. A change that made the phone thinner, lighter and more comfortable. The cameras are competitive and perform well. Multitasking and user interface are well coordinated with this phone to make the most of Fold 5. If you want to reach the full working potential, Samsung has provided complete accessories for this model. Equipment such as pen, cover and base.
